It’s Batch 2011’s stargazing today. Normally, I wouldn’t give a damn about their batch — I still don’t. But, yeah, I was fetched late today, so I still caught sight of them setting up their tents and stuff.

Which, unfortunately, brings a wave of nostalgia.

I was walking around with Estelle when we both remarked that we wanted to attend stargazing. I’m an Astrosoc member, so technically, I can go. Seeing as I don’t have a permit, I didn’t.

Anyway, we both remembered our stargazing last year. God. I missed stargazing. It was one of the best damn things that happened, despite the fact that I sort of lost my voice that day. There’s just something about looking up at the night sky with your friends and letting stars pass over you that’s so relaxing.

I want to do it again.

I want to lie down on the field and just… look at the stars. Look at how they twinkle and shine. The cold February weather helps too.

Sigh.

I promise, I’ll attend next year’s stargazing.

  2. haha. you’re garnet too. XD

ours rocked, even though we were dead tired (we had our english play on the same day). just sharing. :) )

  4. haha. maybe.

that, plus the chilly weather plus late nights = sore throat. ugh.

    and btw, you’re alvin. :P

  5. Hey there. You had your play on the same day? Whoa, that sounds cool. :) Did you have a role?

*sigh* I really miss stargazing. Is it true that there won’t be any overnight batch activities in 2nd year–ever? Waa!!!

I wonder if we Onse people will still have a play next year? I loved it sooo much! It was a wonderful experience–Garnet Onse kept the string alive (hehe). :p Acting is so much fun.

By the way, in case you’re wondering who I am, I was quite a character in the garnet 11 play :p

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — March 7, 2008 @ 3:43 pm

  6. yeah — i was the mom of the lead character. go figure. O_O

and yeah, about the stargazing thing — it’s true. you won’t have time for it, anyway. although maybe you can suggest something.. :P

oh, and… as for the play, maybe. we had one this year (OHMEHN SOCSCI. X_x), and we’re gonna have another one on monday (OHMEHN FIL)

i wasn’t able to watch your play, though — i was in class. X_x

  7. Hey there. It seems you check out your blog quite often. Wow. Some people I know don’t have the patience to do that. :) And with loads and loads of schoolwork! Double wow. :D

Mom of the lead character, eh? Interesting. Did you get any nominations? The awards system was kind of funny in our batch; almost all of the people who went onstage got nominated. For some odd reason, none of the Garnetian (the name we Garnet Onse people give to ourselves :p) bagged a prize despite the fact that we won best play. Grrgrr.

No stargazing? WAAA!!! Will I ever survive?

Aww, you weren’t able to watch our play. That’s okay. But I’ll be watching yours. :)

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — March 10, 2008 @ 10:32 pm

  8. the guys who acted in ours won. (yeah, not us girls. sad.) sadly, we didn’t even have nominees — they just said the winners during flag ceremony. hahaha.

oh, and you’ll survive. if you join astrosoc, you can join the stargazing. ^_^

and our play didn’t push through. haha. it became optional, you see. XD

    Comment by Marz — March 11, 2008 @ 7:34 pm

  9. hey. thought i wouldn’t reply anymore, eh? ;) well, here i am… missed me? nah, just kidding.

grabe, i can’t believe we’re all going up another year now. i’m the teeniest-tiniest bit worried about 2nd year… they say the curriculum’s really tough. You must be really good to have been able to get through all those challenges. :)

I still don’t know which clubs to join. I’m thinking of Astrosoc (I really want to join the stargazing again!!! :p) and also the computer club (i just hope i qualify for proogies…); perhaps even Himig and Mascara! arrrgh! They’re so numerous I can hardly decide! :)

Too bad your play didn’t push through. But I think I know where to find a video of your first year play! ;)

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — March 26, 2008 @ 4:29 pm

  10. 2nd year was tough, really — i’m still recovering from the stress. don’t worry, though — it’s quite fun. :P

oh, and don’t join too many clubs, not in second year. you won’t have time. astrosoc is okay, though, it’s not time-consuming. maSKara is, though.

    Comment by Marz — March 26, 2008 @ 6:45 pm

  11. I guess so. Thanks for telling me, dude. :) One of my classmates joined Astrosoc last year (yeah, the beginning of SY 2007-2008). Strangely enough, we manage to talk quite a lot but even to this date I’ve never heard him speak of any Astrosoc meeting at all. :)

By the way, I’m just wondering, do I get to select the electives I want to take up in 2nd year, or do I have to take all four?

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — March 28, 2008 @ 4:18 pm

  12. you’re taking up two — and you don’t get to choose (this policy started with my batch O_o). which sucks.

    Comment by Marz — March 28, 2008 @ 4:59 pm

  13. Sama mo Marz sa SK :(
    Naging Batok ka pa naman…

Anyway, to that garnetonse person, pray for Ensci and/or CAD. They are the most un-stressful electives. Hehehe. Art will stress you out. It’s like there’s a major project every month. I’m not sure since my electives were EnSci and CAD. =)) And for Tech Skills, just ask Marz. :) )

As for clubs, since there’s a lot of Astrosoc members, it’s hard to be active. Well, it’s like too much members for a club. Well, probably, it’s the most interesting club so many people join. Hehe. I’m not sure if being on Astrosoc’s fun though. As I said, there’s too much members and also, the climactic part of the club is the stargazing which not all members go to. But still, stargazing is fun. XD And Astrosoc is a very fun club too!

The computer club has been “dead” (no meeting was ever heard of) since September of our first year lives. Go figure.

Himig’s fun too! And the members are nice too! And it’s not that much time consuming.

MaSKara is a fun club. Yes, it IS time consuming but I promise you, the results will be great. Like Himig, it’s a small club so the people are pretty close. And they’re really fun to be with. With the right dedication, you can surely survive.

So there you have it. Long comment. Haha. I’m a member of one of these clubs. Halata naman eh :D Katok kasi ako :D

    Comment by Alvin — March 28, 2008 @ 8:39 pm

  14. but it really is time consuming. :) ) pero masaya nga. :) )

oh, and join aksis! hah. it’s actually fun. :)

    Comment by Marz — March 28, 2008 @ 9:33 pm

  15. Hey there, Alvin. Thanks for your wonderful advice. Now I’m beginning to make up my mind on which clubs I’m going to join. What is Aksis, though? Pardon me for being so naive… I just wasn’t so active at the extracurricular stuff during my first year; thought I would focus on academics first. Clubs seem so fun; I can hardly resist the temptation of joining them!

About the elective thing. So you mean they’re going to pick our electives for us? Like our teachers recommend us for certain electives? But how…? :o This is crazy.

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — March 30, 2008 @ 4:36 pm

  16. let’s just say you’ll find out what your electives are on the first day of school. :|

and aksis is the socsci club. haha. don’t let that intimidate you — it’s actually rather fun. *wishes that.. haha. nvm. XD*

alvin> ba’t di ka nagsabi ng anything ’bout aksis? AKSIS KA RIN AH. :) )

    Comment by Marz — March 30, 2008 @ 4:55 pm

  17. Di naman AKSIS kasama sa mga clubs na dinidisscuss niyo eh. =))

Anyway, AKSIS is the Social Science club of Pisay. You probably haven’t heard of it because it’s active outside school. It lives more to the Social part than the Science part. Hahaha.

Oh yeah, it was the S-club last year but that names not good so our adviser, which is the SocSci teacher of most 2nd years this year, changed it.

But it might be that you’ll never get to know him D: He’ll pursue his dreams somewhere.

About electives, I think it’s random and by section. Well all the electives are fun anyway. :D

    Comment by Alvin — March 30, 2008 @ 9:12 pm

  18. *vehement outburst*

no, not all the electives are fun. tech skills… ugh. it was a nightmare. T_T but art was fun. :)

big chance you’ll get art or ensci, since 5 sections take those. but yeah, you can get either art/tsk, ensci/cad, or art/ensci. those are the only combos allowed, anyway.

    Comment by Marz — March 30, 2008 @ 9:34 pm

  19. Ooh. I see. If joining AKSIS would mean breaking free from the stress inside school (especially if I get that tech skills elective)… I will definitely join! But what exactly does it do?

Eek, I’m not exactly much with techprep… I don’t suppose tech skills would be a good one for me. Hmm… there really must be something with the sectioning. Something. Wish I could figure it out.

I wonder, have you guys still got the syllabuses/topic lists (for specific subjects) in 2nd year? I’m terribly in need of those… I really think I ought to study, I mean, prepare for what might be lying ahead. (As Sir Angeles would often tell us. :) )

By the way, Marz. I think I know you now!
Saw you during the card giving day. ;) Popular, eh?

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — April 3, 2008 @ 4:15 pm

  20. i don’t — too lazy to keep ‘em. :P

and aksis.. well, we do all sorts of stuff. like outreach. and… we had this blogger’s kapihan thing. and… well, ask sir martin. hahaha. :) )

    Comment by Marz — April 8, 2008 @ 11:51 pm

  21. Hey there Marz. Sorry it’s been a long time… haven’t been surfing the net lately. It’s great you’re able to cope up even without the syllabuses… I’d die if I lost mine! Still I manage to lose them for some reason nobody would ever expect to come from a person at me… and everyone is just horrified at how irresponsible I am ;) Kidding. Corny as usual.

Oh, by the way, Sir Martin. Err… I’m not so familiar with him. *blushes* It’s just too bad I can’t participate in too many extracurricular activities. All the people I’ve spoken to on the subject don’t really encourage me to do that, so maybe I’ll be take your advice this time. :) I’m sure it’ll work out.

Hey, by the way… I see you’ve changed your layout, eh? It’s pretty. How do you blogging in wordpress, by the way? I’ve heard some people say they aren’t satisfied with it and they like blogger better, but the way I see your blog I think it’s all right. Would you suggest that I start up a blog here? :)

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — April 27, 2008 @ 7:36 am

  22. actually, just a tip: keep your bio syllabuses. it’s worth a recit point. :P

oh, and another tip: join aksis! HAHAHAHA. basta. >:)

i suggest wordpress! hahaha. i dunno — password-protected posts are love. :P you just need to sign up, and that’s it! :P (same goes for blogger). the only advantage blogger has over wordpress is that you can fully customize your blog using HTML and stuff, unlike here in wordpress.

  23. Hey there! It’s been quite a long time since I last dropped by… hope you haven’t forgotten me yet! Or have you? Tsk, tsk, tsk. :p

So far, 2nd year to me seems great, and guess what? It doesn’t seem to be that hard at all… :) Yabang ba?:D But really, I’m enjoying it. Bio is fun, though Sir Espinas’ quizzes are a bit tough… probably one day I’ll figure out a way to get through them victoriously (I hope). By the way, thanks for that tiny bit of info you gave out earlier ago (or was that, say, almost 2 months ago–April 27th, see? :p). We are indeed required to keep our Bio syllabuses. And Sir Martin… he’s just amazing! He’s our batch adviser AND socsci teacher for this year! There’s still an element of mystery around him, though, seeing as we have yet to have our first quiz and I have no idea whether they’re easy or pretty hard, or whether I have to spend the entire night studying for it or do I just have to think. Which reminds me, Sir Angeles is not our teacher and I am totally depressed. Physics is just so damn uninteresting without him. :(

So, regards to you, hope you’re having a nice time in 3rd year… is STR already beginning to stress you out? :p Well, good luck then, and as usual, Io vedi be attesso (I’ll be waiting — for your reply.) :)

    Cheers! :D

    Comment by randomgarnetonse — June 15, 2008 @ 4:02 pm

  24. hey. haha. sorry for replying just now — was busy with schoolwork. XD

2nd year isn’t really that hard — it’s only the requirements that make it hell.

…hmm. i’m thinking you’re camia? haha. sir espinas and sir martin were clues, e. (i was under ma’am dacs, btw.)XD

and i miss sir angeles too! hahaha.

str isn’t really stressful yet, although i’m currently loathing our reaction paper. HAHA.

and sir martin’s quizzes are… haha. i’ll keep my mouth shut. all i know is that he changes things every year, so, yeah. he does give difficult long tests, though. D:

haha. good luck to you too. :P

    Comment by marzzz — June 17, 2008 @ 10:29 pm

  25. Hmm… *moves eyes cautiously from side to side* :p

Hehe. Just kidding. Oh, and by the way, AGAIN, it’s been quite a long time. ;) I seem to believe you guys now–all those requirements have taken their toll on me–sooooo much that I can’t afford to get a single minute of sleep at night. Geom has turned into an amazing replica of hell too–only better.:p I wonder how you guys managed to survive the torture of Line Design and Penrose Tiling?

So you were thinking I’m Camia, eh?:p Well, think-slash-wonder no longer, ’cause you’re right! (Prophetic!):p As you see, I AM Camia. ;) How’d you know, by the way? Is there a certain “assignment” of teachers for each section in second year? Or do you happen to know some people from Camia 2011? :D (Besides me, that is!:))

Oh, and by the way… just as you advised me, I joined AKSIS! :D Took the exam for Pisay Voices last week–and guess what! I’m coming again on Friday! Hooray! :p Haha. (Pardon me for exhibiting too many symptoms of insanity–I’m just ecstatic, is all. ;) ) So YOU’RE the secretary of the club! No wonder! Haha. :) Well, hope we’d see each other around there! :D

Oh, and before I forget, you added me to my YM list, didn’t you? Why, thanks a lot. :) Til next time, gotta finish geom!

    Comment by randomCAMIAonse — July 9, 2008 @ 5:34 pm

  26. I never had Line Design — we were under Ma’am Yuhico, who already retired. We had to do op art (which is actually easy) and a choice of tessellations, islamic art, or daisy design. We did Penrose Tiling in second quarter. :) )

Sir Espinas for Bio is always a clue: he ALWAYS handles the first two classes (Adelfa and Camia), due to the fact that he has a morning shift. :P

And yeah, Sir Martin for SS is another clue. He only handles 4 sections, and Adelfa isn’t one of them. Jasmin is Guce Bio (advisory e) and same with Rosal. Ilang is Dacs Bio. (How did I know Sir Martz’s sections? Well, we’re pretty close :P )

BTW, I’m your BBSC for this year. Haha. :P And yeah, I did add you. I figured I’d need it anyway. :P

See you on Friday! I’ll be there. :P

    Comment by marzzz — July 9, 2008 @ 8:25 pm

  27. You didn’t have line design??? *GASP* Waa, that’s good for you! Well, some people from my class opted to do op art rather than line design, but I picked the latter because I thought it was easier. Well, I suppose it really was, and it’s a good thing I was able to finish it anyway. Hooray for submitting on time–that is, 10 minutes before the deadline! :p Well, at least the geom project’s over and that makes one less thing to worry about. The bad news is… tomorrow’s our long test for Without Seeing the Dawn and I still haven’t mastered the book yet. For some reason I just don’t feel comfortable reading it, though unlike others I don’t really cringe at the “filthy” parts. (Maybe because I’m used to such things? ;) ) I just don’t find it a very rewarding read (sorry, Stevan Javellana! :D ).

Moving on… it’s amazing how you know all these teachers and their “ways of life!” (Sneaky!:p) And yeah, I believe what you say… you and Sir Martz are pretty close. :) Waa, I remember last Friday! Gee, it seems to me that you’re the life of AKSIS! Hehehe. :D Oh, and by the way, I saw you (you’re pretty recognizable) but I wonder if you recognized me? ;)

Hmm, but don’t worry, you’ll get to one day.:)

    Comment by randomCAMIAonse — July 13, 2008 @ 5:22 pm

  28. We were REQUIRED to do Op Art. XD

Don’t worry, I hated Without Seeing the Dawn too. Agh. It’s not really a good piece of lit, in my opinion. I barely passed my English perio because of that book. D:

I did recognize you — Sir checked your attendance, right? :P And yeah, we’re pretty… close. Haha. Ask any Dahlia2010 person. =)) They should know. (Although don’t believe them when they say… nah. nvm XD)

And I’m not the life of AKSIS. It’s Pau (the self-proclaimed PRO XD). You’ll meet him on Friday. Yeah. :) )
